It was, as it always seems to be, the coldest morning of the year as past honorees convened at dawn at the Four Seasons hotel in Toronto to converse and debate and eventually elect the 2013 Gold Award Honorees of the Ontario Hostelry Institute. These really are the hospitality industry’s Oscars, presided over for the 23rd year by the OHI’s revered President and Chair, Charles Grieco. There were strong nominees in every category but at last concensus was reached. The awards will be handed out at the annual fundraising dinner on April 18th – always a glittering black-tie affair. A list of past winners can be found at www.theohi.ca. Meanwhile, here is a preview of the 2013 honorees.
